Pacific Grove The Pacific Grove Middle School program is an award-winning program. When you and your student are first choosing middle school classes, to particpate in music you need to select one of the music classes--usually beginning band, beginning orchestra or chorus. Many of the students began playing an instrument as a fifth grader or before, but there are also plenty of students who took their first lesson as a sixth, seventh or even eighth grader. Five middle school music classes are offered: beginning and advanced orchestra, beginning and advanced band, and chorus. All five count as academic classes and meet every day.
